OHA Membership (continued)

Eligibility for Professional Registration as a Homeopathic Practitioner (H.P.):

Professionals registered with the OHA's Registry of Homeopathic Practitioners must have professional training from a recognized homeopathic college and must meet the following standards: 

CRITERION 1: Medical Sciences Courses

The following fundamental courses with minimum lecture hours are required:

Anatomy & Physiology  180 hrs
Physio-Pathology 90 hrs
Physical Examination 72 hrs

The above University-level courses must be taught by specialty accredited Canadian College and University level teachers. Outlines must reflect the medical nature of the courses.

CRITERION 2: Homeopathic Instruction

The following courses with minimum lecture hours are required: Homeopathy 500 hrs.

CRITERION 3: Clinical Internship

A clinical internship of 500 hours is required.

Note: At the discretion of the Membership Committee, an H.P. applicant may be conditionally registered as an H.D. (dependant upon review of applicant's education and experience); an applicant granted conditional H.D. status must provide a signed letter of intent stating his/her commitment to upgrade his/her credentials, in order to meet the H.D. requirements; an applicant conditionally registered as an H.D. will be reviewed twice a year to assess progress.

Upon regulation of the profession, OHA HP registrants will have 18-24 months to upgrade their credentials to those of H.D. status in order to remain registered professional members of the OHA.
