  Homeopathic Product Regulations

In November of 2001, Rosemary Tayler, HD, organized two open meetings: one in Ottawa and another in Toronto, to enable homeopaths to hear from a representative of Health Canada regarding the proposed regulations for Canadian homeopathic products. After attending the Toronto meeting, Don Nichol, DHMS, HD, realized that not only had he been totally unaware of the developments in this regulatory process, but so had every homeopath with whom he spoke.

Feeling that something had to be done to bring homeopaths into this decision making arena, Don and Rosemary, both OHA board members, teamed up with Aamer Namdar, DHMS, who, until recently, had been working within Health Canada on these same regulations. They began to develop and implement strategies to create a dialogue with the Natural Health Products Directorate and to raise awareness among homeopaths across the country.

The following letter (
CLICK HERE TO VIEW LETTER) has recently been sent to over 20 Canadian homeopathic associations. It was written to clarify the key issues and to suggest a plan of action. We encourage all homeopaths to become involved in ensuring full access for homeopathic products in Canada.
