WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathy is a system of natural healthcare that has been in existence for a few hundred years. It is a regulated system of medicine in Ontario Canada and is used by millions of people worldwide, most notably in India, South America and Europe. It is recognized by the World Health Organization as the second largest therapeutic system of medicine in the world and can be safely used by infants, children and people of all ages to treat acute and chronic diseases when under the supervision of a Homeopathic Practitioner.

In Europe, homeopathy is no longer considered “alternative medicine” as it is practiced so extensively. It should be noted that 30% of French doctors, 20% of German doctors use homeopathy regularly. Apparently 40% of British physicians refer patients to homeopathic doctors and almost 50% of Dutch physicians consider homeopathic medicines to be effective (Fisher and Ward, 1994). Britain maintained four homeopathic hospitals which are now embraced as integrative healthcare facilities.

Homeopathy is popular because it is gentle, non-toxic and powerful. It treats an individual from the core of the problem, treats the whole person and treats them on all levels ie, physically, mentally and emotionally.  Homeopathic remedies correct and balance the body by regulating these processes and functions within the body. It aims to re-establish the life force of the organism by means of activating homeostasis, leading to recovery. This is accomplished by the selection of a supporting remedy by a certified homeopath that is administered to patients according to their health status.
